Abandoned Bruno

                                             Abandoned Bruno

Inspiration: This poem is inspired from an abandoned dog named Bruno. His master left him behind while leaving the station. I see lot of abandoned dogs in our society. Such animal lovers keep dogs for fun and social status and just leave them to their fate for some flimsy reasons without even a ray of guilt.

I have even seen many such people prefer to put their pets to sleep due to age or sickness or abandon them. These abandoned dogs face tremendous mental trauma,  misery to their life, they get psychological shock, become insecure,  attacked by the mongrels, even by the nasty humans who pelt stones at them for no reason.  Lucky few get some shelter home or a kind owner (I have adopted one of such abandoned dog), but many of them succumb to incurable diseases, hunger or a tragic death. I feel pity for such animal lovers.

This poem is written from  dogs perspective and dedicated to such abandoned dogs and I do hope that this poem will save some dogs from becoming orphan.

Abandoned Bruno : Tale of an abandoned dog

He loved me like his son
He brought me toys and fun
He used to talk to  me
Play and run with me

His bike would drive me crazy
Life was full of sport and buzy
His kids were friends to me
They cared and fought for me
Last monsoon I caught some fever
My body was shaking with quiver
Doc told l was almost dead
He spent whole night near my head

One day I overheard,
We all are leaving soon
Everyone was on the moon
I heard him talking to mistress
I sensed some signs of distress
Finally, the day arrived
My master held me and cried
He gave me some bits n biscuits
And also some meat and banquet

I went to say goodbye to Winnie
She was my best friend and honey
We played for an hour or so
When I said, now I have to go
She felt little gloomy and low

I reached my home, to find it locked
Rushed to lawn n pipped through glass
After a while, I knocked door
Thought, they may have gone to floor
I felt on edge, at the set of dusk
My patience was getting crushed
Counted every second till rise of sun
In the morning,
I saw  Winnie going for run
The doors remained closed for ever
I didn't see  master nor friends anywhere

I heard a couple talking one day
My master had left me at the bay
I wonder how he could do that to me
For he loved so much and cared  for me

My heart still beats for the trail of master
Sound of the bikes arouse me faster
I rush to  crossroads in search of master
The days gone by half an year
My life changed from fun to fear

I realised,
My master has abandoned me.

Appeal: Please give your comment and share if you like. Even few pet lover change their decision to abandon their peta after reading this poem. I will realise my wish. Thank you. Be kind to animals for they are our mute friends.
